Afternoon in the Wild Desert

Inspiration Piece: Summer Days

Inspiration Artist: Georgia O’Keeffe

We opened the box of supplies and our minds got going! We all seemed to think using the clay varieties would be the first step. We love as a family the southwest and the artist, Georgia O'Keeffe and have many of her artworks in our home. We lived in Tucson, Arizona, for some time and have enjoyed all the colors of the desert, as well as the critters who live there as well.
Our power point will show the steps of our design and how we used most of the materials in our kit to get to our final artwork submission – “Afternoon in the Wild Desert".

This was a multi-generation family project. We had my father, myself, and my two daughters work as a team. We came up with our team name - "The Reno Artsy Fartsy Renegades". We spent our fall break together brainstorming and creating the project. It was very joyous to see Grandpa teaching the kids some tricks, as well as the kids, showing Grandpa a thing or two.
