Modernized Sunday Afternoon

Inspiration Piece: Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte

Inspiration Artist: George Seurat

I used wire and newsprint to make the figures.
I used the block of hard clay that you needed to heat to make it more pliable for the trees, ice cream cart and benches.
I used several pieces of the thin wood, plus the bigger piece, and small canvas for the bottom of the piece, where the scene sat.
I used wire and newsprint for the boat.
I used acrylic paint for the people, the tree trunks, and part of the tree branches, boat, and grass, and water.
I used the floral foam block for the branches of the trees.

This was a lot of fun to create. If had more time I would have created more action in the scene, so that George Seurat could use his laptop more to create his new masterpiece.
