The Musical Three

Inspiration Piece: The Three Musicians

Inspiration Artist: Pablo Picasso

I was looking at Pablo Picasso paintings as I love his work. I looked at several of his paintings including Viva La France (1914); Still Life in Landscape ((1915); Dream (1932) etc. Nothing really inspired me until my friend suggested "The Three Musicians". It took some time for me to envision how I was to develop my piece of work. I used the various pieces of wood, cardboard, the canvas, portions of the rope, the clay (to support the back of the table), acrylic paints and some magic markers. I used a jigsaw to cut some of wood, sand paper, exacto knife, miniature saw, and lots of energy. The materials used to create the project are previously mentioned.

As I am not an artist, I found the materials to be extremely challenging. I spent a great deal of time experimenting with the materials to see how they could be used. It was challenging and enjoyable (although at some times it was frustrating) and I will most likely participate again. Part of the wonderful experience for me was working with other participants at the Cotuit Center for the Arts in how to use the materials. The other participants are established artists and I enjoyed experiencing shared time with them. The project was extremely challenging and I am proud to have finished my project of "The Musical Three".
