Claire Harsch and Noah Martucci for Somewhere in Time (2015)
Wooden blocks painted army green with metal ball between them to create rotation. Wooden poles and sticks were used to make the barrel of the tank and the axles underneath to attach the wheels which were constructed from the thin wooden pallet. Clay was smoothed along the bottom in a camouflage pattern to represent the United States army while a star was painted on the side to depict our theme of World War 2. Also an American flag was painted on a cut out piece of the box as a background.
Noah chose the theme of World War 2 to be the specific event in time we wanted to express. He is inspired by World War 2 because the infamy and turmoil of this time helps him reflect on this time in his life of struggle.
